Welcome crafty friends! I am so excited to be share the new collaboration from Hero Arts and Ralph Tyndall. It has some great nostalgic sets and also builds on the last collaboration. We are celebrating with an Instagram hop so be sure to head there and comment along the hop for a chance to win a gift card.
I will break my projects up into two blog posts because I could not stop creating new projects. I have so many to share. The Holiday Marquee Messages and Sparkling Holiday Stage builds on the Stage Curtain stencil and die from the last release.
The next set is the Interactive Eight-Ball. This one is fun and can be used with or without the interactive feature. This card has the interactive slider included in the die set. The card came together easily and the background is metallic shimmer spray.
My favorite of the newest collaboration pieces is the Retro Game. I created this interactive card really quickly by making a well at the top you can slide the game cartridge in and out of. This would be so fun to give for birthdays!
I know Ralph and the Hero Arts team worked so hard on this release and it really shows. These pieces are unique and creative. They will for sure be something I reach for regularly.
This Gingerbread Town bold print is super fun. I have used it a few ways but I think this is by far a BOLD print. I stamped the bold print on Hammermill cardstock with Intensified black ink and I made a few panels since I had everything out. I let it dry completely over night.
Then I came back and colored with Copics. I like to sit and color while watching TV and I finished the panel in one evening. No blending or fancy coloring, just filling in the image with bold, bright color. Ok, okay, I did do some minor shading on the trees and stones.
I trimmed it down and added it to a Cherry cardstock mat. The sentiment is from the Christmas Message Strips. I have a container of these sentiment strips. One day did a bunch of strips on white, sand and Pitch black cardstock and then used the coordinating die. Now I have so many easy sentiments to pull from.
Doesn’t this bold print make all your gingerbread town dreams come true?
My friend Michelle Lupton is hosting a cardmaking series called Case Me a Christmas Card. Michelle has been doing this for several years and I am so honored she invited me to join her this year. In this series, Michelle will CASE (Create/Copy And Selectively Edit) a card from my blog/instagram and I will do the same with a card she created.
I chose this beautiful birthday card Michelle did back in June. She used layering stencils, gold paste and a sentiment. I thought the combination of layering stencils and text was brilliant!
On my CASEed card, I used the Color Layering Holiday Flourish stencils from Hero Arts and made the flourish go diagonally across the card panel. I used Green Hills, Fresh Lawn, Cherry, and Cranberry core inks.
Over that I used the Jingle Bells bold print with Embossing and Watermark ink and Gold embossing powder. For the embossing I kept it very loose and imperfect. I even brushed some of the powder away and it left a soft print of the bold print.
The sentiment came from the HA October Clear set of the Month. I trimmed the panel down and matted it on Cranberry cardstock. I also added a few Hero Pearls in gold at the center of the poinsettia.
You can check out the card Michelle CASED from me on her blog. Thank you Michelle for inviting me to join your series, this was so much fun!
It’s obvious I had fun with the Hero Arts Layering Stencil of the Month. I made several versions in one sitting and that’s what I am sharing today. The stencils are super easy to line up and technique is ink blending and pastes. I played for a couple hours and ended up with 5 backgrounds.
This one is Sand cardstock with Unicorn White pigment ink, White metallic ink applied with a sponge dauber and White Pearl Paste. The sentiment is from the Christmas Sentiment Strips and white heat embossed.
This one on Antique Ivory Cardstock with Green Fields, Moss, Pine and Cranberry core inks. I used Gold Hero Paste and Gold Hero Pearls. *Pro tip* Let your pearls dry before putting next to each other or they run together like the ones at the top of the card. The sentiment is from the Christmas Sentiment Strips and gold heat embossed.
Thank you for popping in today! I hope this inspires you to get out those layering stencils and just play with different inks and mediums. As always, I appreciate you shopping with my affiliate link. Happy Crafting!

My first card focuses on the Card Kit of the Month. I went for a mixed media style card mostly because I wanted to play with all the things. I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth paper and used Hero Arts Skin Tone liquid watercolors set. I did very loose watercolor all over letting the paints mix and bloom. After that dried I used the cling stamp over the entire panel. I used Caramel, Cup o Joe, and Wet Cement core inks in color blocked areas. I did use a blending brush to soften the harsh edges of ink. My next layer was stamping the clear stamps with Caramel core ink. I purposely choose only the stamps that were baking related.
I layered the washi stickers over the panel and then trimmed it down to an A2 panel. Lastly I did some ink blending around the edges with Cup o Joe ink and a blending brush. Lastly, I splattered some White Acrylic Spray and used a sentiment from the kit.
Extraordinary Extras Circular Grid Stencil Holiday Assortment Stencil Peeking Gingerbread Man Fancy Die (E)
For my second card I used the cute Peeking Gingerbread die set. I die cut the gingerbread man from Cup o Joe cardstock and white cardstock. I used copic markers to color the red squiggles and black for his face. I ink blended the edges of the gingerbread but it definitely looks like I left him in the oven too long. Hahaha! Anyways, I paper pieced the accents and then added some lacquer pen on top. For the peppermint candies, I die cut two white and one red. then I cut the red one apart and added it to the two white dies.
The background is white heat embossed on sand cardstock using the Cling stamp of the Month. I used a Scalloped square infinity die to create a frame and backed it with Vellum for the sentiment. the sentiment is from the Christmas Message Strips stamp set on Cherry cardstock. The rest of it is just assembling all the parts! Thanks for hopping today and keep an eye out later this week for some more cards I created using the Stencil of the Month.
