Wow. It’s been a few weeks since I posted. I work at a preschool and preschool registration is in early February and it’s our version of “Black Friday.” There is so much planning and prep involved so things have been very busy. But, I’m glad I still have time to create.
I recently found out I was going to be part of the design team for A Blog Named Hero. This is a sister blog for Hero Arts and we do monthly card challenges using Hero Arts products. It’s not hard to tell I love Hero Arts so this is a dream come true for me. I was so excited, I knew I had to pick up some of the new releases from my local-ish independent craft store, It’s All About The Scrapbook in Dixon, California. I picked the Love You Stamp and Cut XL.

When it was delivered I wanted to give it a try right away so pulled out my box of odds and ends. What do we call this box? You know, the box you put the images you stamped and colored but didn’t end up using. The box with a million distress ink smooshed backgrounds and the scraps of that scrap of pattered paper you can’t get rid of because it’s so pretty. We need a fancy name for that box of gems! Well, I pulled out this lemon background that was already colored. It’s the Fresh Citrus Bold Print from Hero Arts. I used Copic markers to color this.

I cut the panel down to 4 x 5.25 inches and placed the You die in the bottom corner. I also cut a mat of Canary Hero Hues cardstock to just slightly smaller than A2. At first, my plan was to used the negative part of the die but after I die cut it, I didn’t like the look. So I cut the die You from Mustard Hero Hues cardstock to inlay. I liked the contrast between the canary mat and the mustard word die.

To finish the card, I added some shimmer pen to the word die. I stamped the sentiment on canary cardstock and popped it up on some foam tape for dimension. The rest of the card is flat so the sentiment really pops. I love the size of this new XL Stamp and Cut. I hope this card brightens your day!
